Dr. Jerome Rivera, PT, DPT

Co-Founder | NYC Midtown Physical Therapy and Massage



Dr. Jerome Rivera is a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy and co-founder of NYC Midtown Physical Therapy and Massage, alongside Xiaozhen Li, LMT. He brings nearly a decade of clinical experience in outpatient, home-based, and mobile therapy, with a focus on orthopedic and neurological rehabilitation, including post-operative recovery and chronic movement disorders.


Graduating summa cum laude from the University of Santo Tomas and completing his DPT at the University of Montana, Dr. Rivera has served in leadership roles across New York City. He specializes in treating conditions such as joint replacements, spinal surgeries, balance impairments, Parkinson’s disease, and neuropathy.


At the clinic, Dr. Rivera and Ms. Li offer a holistic, patient-centered model that combines physical therapy and massage therapy to optimize healing, mobility, and long-term function. His mission is to provide compassionate, evidence-based care that helps patients live stronger, safer, and more active lives.



Dr. Chun Zhou, L.Ac. (NY), M.D. (P.R. China), Ph.D. (Immunology)

 

Dr. Chun Zhou is a licensed acupuncturist at NYC Midtown Physical Therapy and Massage, bringing a unique blend of traditional Chinese medicine expertise and advanced Western medical training to his acupuncture practice. He specializes in individualized treatment planning based on precise TCM diagnosis, classical Chinese needling techniques, and evidence-based approaches that complement modern healthcare.


Dr. Zhou completed his M.D. and Ph.D. in China and later conducted scientific research at leading institutions including the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Columbia University, publishing over twenty original research articles, reviews, and book chapters in prestigious journals such as PNAS, Current Biology, and Nature Neuroscience. He currently serves as a tenured associate professor at Mercy University.


After resuming his formal acupuncture studies at the New York College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (NYCTCM), Dr. Zhou trained under distinguished clinical professors and treated over 500 patients during his clinical internships. His focus includes managing infertility, neuromuscular pain, and conditions related to immune, digestive, and endocrine system imbalances, integrating classical acupuncture techniques derived from the Yellow Emperor's Inner Classic with contemporary clinical practices.




Ni Chung, L.Ac.

Licensed Acupuncturist


Ni Chung is a New York State-licensed acupuncturist with over 40 years of clinical experience treating a wide range of conditions, including asthma, bronchitis, cancer-related pain, chronic hiccups, indigestion, insomnia, irregular menstruation, migraines, and smoking addiction. She has worked extensively with both adult and pediatric patients in outpatient clinics, hospitals, and private practice settings across China, Chile, and the United States.



Mrs. Chung completed her Master of Science in Health Science and Acupuncture at the New York College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (NYCTCM) and pursued earlier studies at the New York College of Health Professions. Her professional background includes positions at Rehab World Physical Therapy in New York, NY, where she specializes in addressing pain syndromes, tension headaches, and sleep disturbances, as well as longstanding service at New York Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital, assisting in radiology and emergency imaging support.


Drawing from her rich international experience, including leading her own clinic in Chile and providing post-stroke rehabilitation home visits in Guangzhou, China, Mrs. Chung brings a deep commitment to healing through traditional Chinese medicine techniques such as acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, acupressure, ear therapy, cupping therapy, and moxibustion.


Steven Yu, LMT, L.Ac.

Steven Yu is a dual-licensed massage therapist and acupuncturist in the State of New York, with many years of clinical experience treating patients from all walks of life. Known for his steady hands, deep compassion, and confident approach, Steven combines the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine with modern therapeutic techniques to deliver personalized, effective care.


Throughout his career, Steven has helped patients manage and recover from a wide range of conditions—from complex chronic illnesses to everyday stress, fatigue, and pain. His treatments are guided not only by skill and knowledge, but also by a sincere desire to heal and uplift those in need.


Steven’s mission is rooted in the philosophy: “a world without illness, a world without poverty.” He believes healthcare should be both accessible and impactful, and he works tirelessly to ensure that every patient receives the attention, respect, and results they deserve.

Lainey Li, LMT

Co-Founder | NYC Midtown Physical Therapy and Massage 


Lainey Li is a licensed massage therapist and co-founder of NYC Midtown Physical Therapy and Massage, bringing over 20 years of experience in therapeutic massage to the team. She specializes in combining deep tissue and Swedish massage with reflexology, Chinese medicine principles, and acupressure techniques to deliver powerful pain relief and promote long-term healing.

Graduating from a nationally accredited massage therapy program and trained extensively in both Eastern and Western massage traditions, Lainey has developed a unique, results-driven approach to treatment. Her focus areas include chronic pain management, stress reduction, and rehabilitation support for orthopedic and neuromuscular conditions.

At NYC Midtown Physical Therapy and Massage, Lainey works alongside the team to provide personalized, holistic care that optimizes recovery, mobility, and overall well-being. Her mission is to help every patient achieve better health and balance through expert technique, compassionate care, and a commitment to excellence in therapeutic massage.
